When you purchase a piece of hardware, the installation disk that comes with it is almost always out of date. DON’T USE IT! You should always go to the manufacturers site and get the latest drivers. As a matter of fact, that is a good deciding factor to consider BEFORE YOU BUY. I like to refer to my trusty consumer reports mag as well. I hit some sites and read some reviews to compare products. When I get down to the last couple, I go to the manufactures site and look for the latest drivers and how well the product is supported. This was a lesson learned from experience. I have built HUNDREDS of computers. I also worked in a factory where I built at least 200 systems a month. I also did board level functional salvage on hundreds of motherboards. That, along with 30 years of designing custom electronics has allowed me to say, “I think I have a little more experience than what you may think.”. Not that it is difficult to repair a computer in this days age but, having experience just saves time. Of course I could be wrong. That’s why I charge half as much right?
