Bad Pool Header

BAD_POOL_HEADER

I was getting the blue screen of death (BSOD) on boot but not all the time.

BAD_POOL_HEADER Blue Screen of death on re-boot.

I discovered, by turning things off one at a time, that it was the indexing service.

Upon examining many computers (well, six computers not “many”) with the same issue, I found that some had indexing service turned off in control panel/administrative tools/services but, was still turned on in run/msconfig/services. Strange..

So I disabled (unchecked) indexing service in run/msconfig/services and verified indexing service was disabled else I disabled it in control panel/administrative tools/services.

All fixed.. Well band aided. What was the cause? I really do not care. Do you?
